IT support built for the way small businesses actually run
Most small businesses don't have an in-house IT person. The owner, the office manager or 'whoever is nearest the router' ends up resetting passwords, wrestling with Outlook and Googling error messages between actual work. Problems get ignored because there isn't time, and then one of them breaks badly, on a Friday afternoon, and the whole week is gone.
Good small business IT support changes that. One number to call when something stops working. Real engineers who already know your setup and pick up fast. Backups, security and Microsoft 365 quietly looked after in the background. And a predictable monthly cost that's a small fraction of what an in-house hire would be, so you can budget it like rent or insurance, not a surprise.
We're a Solihull-based team that's spent years working with small businesses, accountants, solicitors, charities, manufacturers and professional services firms, across Birmingham and the West Midlands. We're used to small teams, sensible budgets and people who'd rather not hear the words "let's hop on a call to discuss your strategic IT roadmap". When you're ready to grow, our service grows with you, whether that's more users, more security, or a full outsourced IT department as you scale.
Common small business IT problems we solve
If any of these sound familiar, you're not alone. They're the issues we fix for small businesses week in, week out.
Slow computers and ageing hardware
Machines that take 10 minutes to boot, freeze in Excel and have been 'fine for now' for three years. We replace, refurbish or refresh, and stop it costing your team an hour a day.
Email and Microsoft 365 issues
Mailboxes that won't sync, shared inboxes nobody can access, Teams calls that drop and licences nobody can explain. We tidy the tenant and run it properly going forward.
No backup or disaster recovery plan
A USB drive in a drawer is not a backup. We put proper cloud backup in place for Microsoft 365 and your files, with a real recovery plan if something goes wrong.
Weak security and no phishing protection
No MFA, shared passwords in a spreadsheet, no email filtering. We harden the basics, most small business breaches come from things that take a morning to fix.
No one to call when something breaks
When the printer dies or email stops, the office manager shouldn't be on Google for an hour. One number, UK-based, picked up by an engineer.
Outgrowing consumer-grade tech
Home routers, free Gmail accounts and personal OneDrives don't scale. We move you onto proper business kit without ripping everything out at once.

Why small businesses choose LeapIT
We've built the service for small teams first, then scaled it up, not the other way round.
Local and responsive
We're based at Hockley Court near Solihull. When something genuinely needs an engineer on site, that's a short drive, not a postcode you've never heard of.
Plain-English communication
No jargon, no condescension, no 'have you tried turning it off and on again' as a punchline. Just clear answers and what you need to do.
Never treated as too small
A 6-person business gets the same care and the same engineers as a 60-person one. Small businesses are the heart of what we do, not a side hustle.
Room to grow
Add users month by month as you hire. Add cyber security, VoIP or cloud services when you're ready. Your IT stack grows with you, never ahead of you.

Small Business IT Support, FAQs
The questions small business owners ask us most often before signing up.
Small business IT support is almost always priced as a fixed monthly fee per user, so the bill scales naturally with your team size, usually somewhere between £40 and £80 per user per month depending on what's included. Compared to hiring even a junior IT person (£28k–£35k plus overhead) or dealing with repeated breakdowns and downtime, it's typically far cheaper. We always quote a fixed per-user price after a free IT health check, so you know exactly what you're paying for.
No. We support businesses from as few as 5 users upward and tailor the service to small teams, you only pay for the users you have, and you only get the components you actually need. Small businesses are arguably where good IT support makes the biggest difference, because there's no in-house person to absorb the problems and one bad day can cost you a week.
You can do either, but they're not the same thing. Ad-hoc 'break-fix' support costs more per hour, doesn't prevent problems, and the engineer has no history with your setup. Managed support is a fixed monthly fee that includes monitoring, security, patching and unlimited helpdesk, so most issues are prevented or caught early. For all but the very smallest businesses, managed support works out cheaper over a year and is far less stressful.
Yes, Microsoft 365 is at the centre of almost every small business we look after. We handle initial setup or migration from Gmail/Outlook, licensing, mailbox configuration, shared inboxes, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive, plus security policies like MFA and conditional access. Day to day, we deal with the password resets, the new starter setups and the 'Outlook isn't working' tickets so your team don't have to.
We support small businesses across Birmingham, Solihull, Coventry, Worcester and the wider West Midlands. Our base is Hockley Court in Hockley Heath, so on-site visits across the region are easy. Remote support is available wherever your team work from, including hybrid setups and home workers.
