Cloud Monitoring & Management
Most cloud problems are spotted by the people they affect. We monitor your cloud platforms 24/7 so we catch issues, performance, cost, security, before your team does.

Why Monitored Cloud Beats Unmonitored Cloud
The promise of cloud was simple: somebody else worries about the infrastructure. The reality is more nuanced. Microsoft, Azure and AWS keep the platform running, but they don't tell you when your specific tenant is misbehaving, when an Azure VM is running hot, when a Microsoft 365 mailbox is approaching its quota, when costs spiked overnight, or when a user just enabled forwarding to an external address.
That's the gap cloud monitoring fills. We sit on top of your cloud services, watching the things that matter to your business: performance, cost, security posture, user behaviour and capacity. When something drifts out of normal, we know about it, usually before you do.
For businesses across Birmingham and the West Midlands, cloud monitoring is a core part of our cloud support service. It's what turns "we use the cloud" into "the cloud is properly managed".
What We Actually Monitor
Cloud monitoring is more than uptime checks. The areas we cover for every managed client:
- Microsoft 365 health, Mailbox sizes, OneDrive quotas, SharePoint site usage, licence allocation, failed sign-ins, suspicious mail rules, mailbox forwarding
- Azure resources, VM CPU/memory/disk, app service availability, SQL DTU, storage account capacity, backup job status
- Cost and budget, Daily cost tracking with alerts when spend deviates from forecast, catches runaway services, accidentally over-provisioned resources or compromised accounts mining crypto
- Security signals, Impossible-travel logins, mass-download events, MFA bypass attempts, conditional access failures
- Backup verification, Daily checks that backups actually completed and are restorable, not just that the job started
- Patch and update status, Visibility on which cloud workloads are behind on updates
This dovetails with our endpoint protection and backup & disaster recovery services to give a single, joined-up view of risk.
How We Respond
Monitoring without response is just a wall of red dashboards. Every alert we generate has a defined response:
- Critical (service down, security incident in progress), Engineer notified within minutes, work starts immediately, you're called
- High (capacity at 90%, backup failure, suspicious sign-in), Engineer reviews within the hour, action taken or scheduled, you're notified
- Standard (cost trend, licence reallocation opportunity, patch behind schedule), Reviewed in our daily ops meeting, included in your monthly report
You also get a monthly cloud report: usage, cost, security posture, what we've fixed, what we're recommending. No 40-page PDFs nobody reads, just the things that matter, with clear actions.
What's Included

Security Signal Detection
Impossible travel, mass downloads, MFA bypasses and suspicious mail rules surfaced and triaged automatically.
Backup Verification
Daily checks that cloud backups completed successfully and remain restorable.
Capacity & Performance
Visibility on VM, mailbox, OneDrive and SharePoint capacity before users hit limits.
Monthly Cloud Reporting

Cloud Monitoring & Management, FAQs
Yes. Microsoft 365 is the most-attacked SaaS platform in the world. Without monitoring you have no visibility on suspicious sign-ins, mail rules being created on compromised accounts, mass downloads or licence misuse. Microsoft provides the platform, they don't tell you when your tenant is being abused.
Microsoft provides the raw signals (Defender, Entra logs, Azure Monitor). We layer interpretation, response and ownership on top, turning thousands of log entries into a small number of meaningful alerts that an engineer actually acts on.
No. Monitoring is read-only, we pull telemetry via Microsoft Graph and Azure APIs. There's no agent installed and no impact on performance for your users.
Yes, cost optimisation is a major part of what we do. Common findings on a first review: oversized VMs, orphaned disks, unused public IPs, dev environments left running 24/7 and reserved-instance opportunities. We typically save clients 20–35% on their Azure bill in the first three months.
Yes. The bulk of our work is Microsoft 365 and Azure (it's where most of our SME clients operate), but we support AWS environments too, particularly where clients have inherited AWS workloads from legacy projects.
