IT Overhaul Across Multi-Site Automotive Dealerships

A multi award-winning automotive dealership group with multiple sites across the Midlands approached LeapIT to overhaul their IT systems across all dealerships. Key challenges included:

• Ageing IT equipment running outdated Windows and Office software
• An unreliable email platform managed by their application provider that couldn't scale with rapid business expansion
• A brand new dealership requiring full IT, networking, wireless, unified communications, and managed print from scratch
• No outdoor wireless coverage for the sales team to create and upload customer videos

Phase 1: Audit — Deployed Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) software across the entire group to capture detailed endpoint data including device age, OS versions, Office versions, antivirus status, missing patches, and full hardware inventory. Produced a prioritised framework document.

Phase 2: Office 365 Email Migration — Migrated email across all dealerships to Microsoft Office 365 from the legacy system, transferred domain names, and enabled Defender, multi-factor protection, and Exclaimer email signatures.

Phase 3: New Dealership Build-Out — Full IT, VoIP (3CX cloud-hosted), managed print (Sharp copiers), and enterprise wireless (UniFi) installation. Managed structured cabling specification, Dell hardware throughout, and domain registration for the new site.

• All outdated PCs replaced with latest Dell hardware running current software
• Email migrated to Office 365 with significant reduction in spam and improved shared calendar visibility
• 24/7 antivirus monitoring and automated weekly security scans deployed via RMM
• New dealership opened on schedule with full IT, wireless guest access, VoIP, and managed print
• All IT, communications, cloud, and print consolidated under a single managed support contract with LeapIT
