PC boot problems need to be classified into either hardware or software issues. Hardware problems in older PC’s tend to be focused around the power supply not working, the PC overheating because the fan has stopped working or problems with a damaged motherboard or memory. All of these issues tend not to mean that you have lost any data, as long as the hard disk is still functional we can salvage all of your data.
Software issues tend to revolve around the windows operating systems and corrupt files/file systems, pressing the F8 key whilst a PC is booting lets you go into the advance boot section of Windows where you can try different boot options to figure out where the problem lies. Replacing your central server is one of the biggest projects that you can undertake as a business; we have been replacing and decommissioning old servers on our client’s behalf for the past 12 years and whilst each project is unique we are able to pull on our vast experience to make sure the transition is as smooth as possible.
Many windows based domain servers can be easily and quickly replaced by joining the new server to the existing domain and then transferring the FSMO roles (we know what we mean!) over to the new server. The old server can then simply be decommissioned at time to suit you once all testing has been completed. Alternatively it can be left on the network handling client requests and sharing some of the load without any fear of the consequences of it one day failing over.
